One of the guys that does research with me, Massimiliano Spaliviero, found on the internet something about the origin of the common term OK. He does not have the source anymore but claims that O.K. originally came from a war in which soldiers wrote 0 (zero) K on the doors of their barraks every night. This was meant to tell others in their camp that there were zero killed in their group that day and that every thing was alright. This definition was not listed in the link above but it's the one I like the most...
